What happens when we are faced with a decision that could change everything? What happens when life doesn't meet our expectations? WHEREVER YOU GO, THERE YOU ARE follows six individuals, each at a crossroad in their lives. With influences including Andrew Lippa, Jason Robert Brown, and Jonathan Larson, Evan Jay Newman has written a score rich in musical themes with a lyric that is both visceral and delicate. A song cycle in its truest form, WHEREVER YOU GO THERE YOU ARE lays out the pieces of these six interconnected stories and leaves them for the audience to interpret.

16-year-old Ethan is the classic high school underdog. He is bullied in school, socially awkward, and pines after a popular girl who isn't even aware of his existence. After hearing some of the jocks describing their favorite game, The Oregon Trail, Ethan convinces himself the only way to get the girl is to master the hit game. He gets more than he bargained for when he gets pulled into the world of the game and discovers the only way out is to get to the end of the Oregon Trail. His journey is complicated by the appearance of an unnamed tracker who is hell bent on stopping the wagon at all costs. Accompanied by a beautiful but mysterious wife, an ever-sickly daughter, his 8-year-old son, and an ill-fated baby, Ethan must conquer the trials of the trail before it's too late.
